The new Samsung Galaxy S23 is finally official. Samsung will be leveraging its “Galaxy Unpacked” conference to unveil three new smartphones coming for 2023. Despite the many leaks in the last few weeks, the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra still have a few surprises in store, starting with their prices and release dates!

Therefore, the new Samsung Galaxy S23 totals three. The new phones will be available starting Friday, February 17 at the following prices:

• Samsung Galaxy S23: from 959€
• Samsung Galaxy S23+: from 1219€
• Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: from 1419€

What’s new in the Samsung Galaxy S23?

The Samsung Galaxy S23 takes a lot of points from its predecessors. The phone has a 6.1-inch AMOLED display and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. First update: S23 screen brightness can reach 1750 nits according to Samsung. A size only available on the Ultra S22 version at the time.

In terms of design, the S23 is almost identical to the previous generation. Only the photo block has changed and is now fused into the device shell to show only the photo sensor, like the S22 Ultra and other S23 ranges.

Samsung Galaxy S23 pinned new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Hence the final Exynos processor for high-end smartphones from Samsung this year, after performance that was very patchy in the previous generation in 2022.

The photo sensor of the Samsung Galaxy S23 is the same as the S22 except for the selfie camera. The latter became 12 Mpx this year to capture better photos in selfie format and to capture more details in your shots. Other photo sensors of the Samsung Galaxy S23 are:

• 50MP wide-angle sensor.
• 12 MP Ultra Wide Angle Sensor.
• Telephoto up to x3 (optical then up to x30 digital) in 10 Mpx.

A small improvement should be noted on the autonomy side. The Samsung Galaxy S23 battery has a charging capacity of 3900 mAh compared to the 3700 on the latest generation S22 smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S23+: the right balance?

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ once again stands out as the “happy medium” of high-end smartphones from Samsung. It incorporates most of the new features found in the classic S23, with a larger size and some minor improvements.

The S23+ comes with a 6.6-inch screen with AMOLED panel and 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. The latter will be able to display your content and games very smoothly, while maintaining the autonomy of the phone when you don’t need a high refresh rate. Like the basic version, S23+ screen brightness should be able to reach 1750 nits according to Samsung.

The photo module of the Samsung Galaxy S23+ is the same as the base model. Therefore, the phone has a main sensor of 50 Mpx, Ultra Wide Angle 12 Mpx and telephoto x3 10 Mpx. A new 12 MP selfie sensor is also here to improve the quality of your photos with the camera on the front of the phone.

Another big advantage of the Samsung Galaxy S23+ over the base version comes from its autonomy. The S23+ is equipped with a 3900 mAh battery which is 200 mAh more than the classic S23. Enough to save a few minutes of precious phone use.

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ will be available with the other two models starting February 17 two storage options: 256 and 512 GB. Pre-order bonuses are also available which allow you to double your storage space at no extra cost. By buying for example the 512GB format, you will only pay the price shown for 256GB.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung’s most premium smartphone (along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4). This phone has a very particular design with very raised edges and is a far cry from the rounded edges on the S23 and S23+. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra still includes the S-Pen stylus to establish itself as a reference smartphone in terms of productivity.

Samsung is one of the best smartphone manufacturers when it comes to photography. The first novelty to come for the Samsung Galaxy S23 is in the camera. The S23 Ultra is equipped with a 200MP main sensor. The latter should allow you to take higher quality shots compared to the previous model.

The return of the Snapdragon processor on the Samsung Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra follows the other two models. The company seems to have heard its community’s complaints compared to the Exynos processor that powers the S22 in Europe. Therefore, all Samsung Galaxy S23 have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsone of the strongest SoC at the moment.

Autonomy that must be increased

Even though the battery of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has not changed from its predecessor, there are several possibilities that the battery life of the cellphone will still be improved. The S23 Ultra still has a 5000 mAh battery, but its Snapdragon processor should manage battery life better than the Exynos chip installed in the S22 Ultra. What colors are available for the Samsung Galaxy S23?

Samsung has confirmed that several colors will be available for the Samsung Galaxy S23. These appear to be taken from previous generations, with the exception of “pink” which will probably duplicate the often popular “cream” and “lavender” colors. The first image of the Samsung Galaxy S23 reports just that the colors available at launch are black, cream, green, and lavender.

How much does the Samsung Galaxy S23 cost?

Samsung took advantage of the “Galaxy Unpacked” conference to unveil various prices and pre-order bonuses for the new Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra. Therefore, the price increase is confirmed with a little over 100 € compared to the price of the Galaxy S22.

When is the Samsung Galaxy S23 release date?

The new Samsung Galaxy S23 will be available starting Friday, February 17th. They are officially presented on February 1, 2023 at 19.00. at the “Galaxy Unpacked” conference. Two pre-order bonuses are offered before the phone is released:
