Obi-Wan, more stories to tell?
That the first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi ends with a epic episodes and a satisfying conclusionshows the sequence of events for Jedi refugee on Tatooine, who watches over young Luke Skywalker. But no doubt there may be stories left to tell what happened to him between Episode III and Episode IV. From events that we will not see in Star Wars Rebels, nor any major series or films released up to that point. While the Jedi protected Luke from a distance, he certainly did live many adventures that we do not know, or about which little is known. If for now a sequel to the series is yet to be hinted atit seems the actor interpreting it is quite on his side excited to continue!
“I’m really happy to be back (…) and I hope we have the chance to do it again.”
During Disney Awards, Ewan McGregor thus showed all the joy which he already has back to the galactic universe far, far awayas good find his “student” Hayden Christensen :
I’m so excited to be back, and so excited to be working with Hayden again, and I hope we get the chance to do that again. I often joke that “There must be a good story to tell between Episode III and Episode IV”, but it’s true, I always felt that way. I feel like Deborah Chow found this great story and executed it well.
He made this statement in answered a question about possibly seeing season 2 land for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+. Because of that nothing has been confirmed, and it’s not it’s not the first time Ewan McGregor has expressed a desire to return to the character’s skin, since the end of the series. If someone else the screenwriter also said a sequel was possiblethat episode director Deborah Chow confirmed that it was a closed storyimplies that he is not better don’t expect to see season 2.
Next time we see Obi-Wan in new content? Not for now…
So did Ewan McGregor foot call to disney to give fans another season? Anyway, a company with big ears for now focuses on other shows in the Star Wars universe. In a few weeks season 3 of The Mandalorian will land on Disney+. We also know that a a second season is expected for Star Wars: Andor, a story that is clearly not over. A the series centers on the character Ahsoka Tano, Anakin’s student already seen in live-action in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, also in production. There is it is unlikely to see Obi-Wan in this seriesbecause it was supposed to happen after Episode VI, but we always can imagine he could appear in flashbacks, or through the Force. We know, for example, that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin/Darth Vader, while his character dies at the time, so it’s not impossible to find Obi-Wan there too. Finally, Disney is also planning other shows in the Star Wars universe., which is little known. Ewan McGregor could do that well put on Mr. Kenobi’s clothes againfor his greatest happiness of course.
