Ravenlock
Announced during Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022, you may remember Ravenlock, which will be available from launch on Game Pass. It’s an action RPG that also takes inspiration from fairy tales. Atomic Heart
The following games are quite well known, but it’s impossible not to include them in this selection! Atomic Heart, does that ring a bell? It is an open world first-person shooter game developed by Mundfish studio. In video games, manifest demons, we know. But skateboard demon, we think it’s the first… But it’s a (weird) concept proposed by Skate Story, self-developed by Sam Eng | published by Devolver Digital. The description on Steam is crystal clear: “You are a demon made of glass and suffering in the Underworld. Evil gives you a skateboard and a simple task, climb to the moon and swallow it to be set free.” Along the way, you’ll meet other tortured souls, but most importantly, master your board from A to Z. As can be seen in the trailer, the physiques of the figures appear to be at the peak of realism – arguably as good as they were in Sessions. Then there’s this amazing art direction. In short, a UFO.

Thirty Applicants
While on the surface, Thirsty Suitors looks like a colorful and narrative game like no other, it’s actually a real electric battery. Because yes, the Outerloop project, edited by Annapurna, mixes three genres that – usually – have nothing to do with anything at all: fighting, skating, and cooking ! You read that right… According to the Steam page, this is “a game about culture, relationships, family pressure and self-expression” where you play as Jala, a young woman. During the versus fight phase, you must fight “punks, suitors and exes”. As for skateboarding, it seems to be about exploring with other challenges, mysteries, punks. Finally, around the kitchen table, there was talk of “impressing your mom and fixing your relationship” as part of the “action-packed segment.” It clearly remains to be seen how these three genres will mix.

Plucky Square
Very quickly reminiscent of a certain “Time RPG The Legend of Wright”, The Plucky Squire is based on a simple but very interesting concept: a character from a storybook (Laïus | his friends) who realizes that there is another world, behind the cover. Basically, the 2D phase over the page is replaced by a 3D exploration, in the nursery! In all this, the hero must fight the monstrous Ragecuite and give his story a “happy ending”… In addition to a absolutely irresistible visual style, The Plucky Squire seems to offer a fairly varied phase with boxing, shoot’em up, archery. Yes, the whole thing looks like a breath of fresh air.

The Little Devil Within
We end with a project we’ve heard about for a long time and can’t wait to see it happen: The Little Devil Within. Remember, at the end of 2021 on the PlayStation side of things, we have the rights to a good set of gameplay, then nothing. As a reminder, this software is presented as a combination of action, adventure, survival, RPG. In the latest trailer, we can see imaginary creatures (like kraken, skeletons) and a an adventure that promises to be somewhat originalbetween train journeys, breaks by the fire, kitchens in the snow… To this day, it’s still hard to really understand what we should do, but one thing is for sure: we want more!
