Often laptops offer finishing that is not too complicated, faulty components that are already very expensive. For its Zephyrus G14, ASUS has chosen to build a machine that is both beautiful and powerful. As said before, the chassis is very well designed with hinges that raise the chassis for increased airflow and cooling. We should also mention the LED system that adorns the back of the screen, and allows you to display messages or images, which is quite unique in current production.

It all starts with a WUXGA 16:10 (1900×1200 pixels) IPS panel whose colorimetry is colorimetrically certified by Pantone and which supports Dolby Vision HDR. In terms of performance, we deserve a response time of 3 ms and a refresh rate of 144Hz, which should appeal to competitive players who need absolute fluidity. The panel is powered by a dedicated AMD Radeon RX 6700S graphics card with 8GB of dedicated memory.

Therefore, we won’t benefit from DLSS or RTX, but SAM (Smart Access Memory) will be there, as will FSR (AMD’s VRR) even if few games support it. Concretely, we will have enough to run all the latest games without problems, this GPU offers rasterization performance similar to that of the RTX 3070 mobile.

At the heart of the chassis sits an AMD Ryzen 7-6800HS processor that offers 8 cores and 16 threads with a frequency that oscillates between 3.2Ghz and 4.7Ghz in boost mode. This chip is supported by 16GB of RAM. It’s also worth noting that the CPU and GPU are equipped with the well-known liquid metal thermal interface (just like the PS5) to optimize performance.

Storage level, we deserve a 1TB SSD M.2 PCIe 3.0 which accommodates Windows 11. One of the advantages of this PC is of course its nomadic aspect as it weighs only 1.6Kg, meaning almost 400g less than the average. Likewise, we were able to save weight by powering it with a generic USB-C brick of up to 100W, which allowed it to be used without issue in office automation and in light gaming. On triple A titles, you’ll have to use the dedicated power supply provided, or look at the battery drain as this will compensate for what the USB-C block can’t provide.
