If you’re not familiar with the various Nintendo Switch versions, know that OLED is the best and the newest. Hardware level, nothing has changed, and therefore games won’t run better on it. With a native 64GB SSD, it should have enough space to hold a few Nintendo games that generally don’t take up much space.
Compared to the basic Switch comes three big new features. The most important changes are clearly found at the screen level, as LCD panels have been replaced by OLED screens. The latter offers an identical 720p resolution, but has a slightly larger diagonal at 7 inches versus the 6.2 inches on the original model, meaning we’ll be playing with a lower definition.
However, the brightness and colorimetry qualities of OLED largely compensate for this flaw, and images are generally more pleasing on the new model. Once connected to your TV, we’ll stay in 1080p, with no difference.
The second novelty concerns the arrival of an RJ45 port in the engine dock. This will allow you to do without Wi-Fi while playing on the TV. This is especially useful when playing online games where you need to minimize latency, or to better enjoy games that can be played exclusively in the Cloud, like Remedy’s Control.
Finally, the latest innovation consists of new legs that have a better adjustment range at the rear of the machinewhich is more practical to put on the table, although not really a selling point.
Because it concerns The Legend of Zelda: Sky Sword HDwe haven’t been at our best Zelda since Breath of the Wild still undefeated, but we’re still on to the good entertainment which received a score of 16/20 during our editorial test. Released as a tribute to the license’s 35th anniversary, the HD port of the Wii game takes us back to its mythical origins where we learn more about the license’s universe, specifically the creation of the Master Sword.

Nintendo seems to have heard the criticism leveled at 2011’s Skyward Sword and drastically tone it down. By offering alternative controls and minimizing interaction with Fay that breaks the rhythm of the adventure, this new version goes further than other remasters and changes what it needs most. If it shows its age when one is drawn to textures or questionable ergonomic choices, it still offers a gripping adventure that gains all of its strengths in its second half. Skyward Sword HD is a must for anyone who didn’t find a title at the time and a delight for veterans looking to embark on an adventure behind their Célestrier Vermeil. The latter will only be able to appreciate a much more continuous rhythm of adventure and will rediscover the origins of this legendary saga in great shape.
