Best FIFA: List of different competitors

For the awards scheduled for February 27, FIFA unveiled on Thursday January 12 the various lists of contenders for The Best Fifa trophy.

In total, 7 trophy categories will be awarded during the annual ceremony marking the return of face-to-face after several turbulent years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The coveted biggest award, Lionel Messi, crowned champion of Mali, is the favorite for the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year (best male player) trophy.

The categories that will be awarded are: best player, players, goalkeepers, goalkeepers, supporters, men’s and women’s football coaches. For The Best – FIFA Supporters Award, one person and 2 groups of supporters took part. First, Abdullah Al Salmi (Saudi Arabia). Traversing the Saudi desert, Abdullah traveled to Qatar on foot from his hometown of Jeddah to cheer for his team at the FIFA World Cup. Second, the supporters of Argentina.

They flocked to Qatar to push their team to the FIFA World Cup crown, and millions of them cheered for their heroes as they made their way back to Buenos Aires and across the country. And finally, the Japanese fans who are honored around the world for their tradition of remaining in the stadium after World Cup games to help clear the stands.

According to FIFA, two panels of experts select the candidate. He also added that the public voting procedure on FIFA+ lasts until 3 February 2023 and the three finalists in each of the seven categories will be announced in early February.
