GOLDEN GLOBES – Consecration for film The Fabelmans, the Banshees of Inisherin and series Abbott SD… This Tuesday, January 10, the Golden Globes return to Los Angeles for their 80th edition after being largely shunned in recent years. First the blame for the pandemic, then the accusations of racism, sexism and corruption leveled at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), who was on the jury.
Moreover, the evening’s host, African-American comedian Jerrod Carmichael opened with a joke recalling the accusations of racism, sexism and corruption leveled against the HFPA. “I’ll tell you why I’m here. I’m here because I’m black”, he launched. The evening, however, passed without brilliance, we might note.
