A worthy successor to the excellent S21 Ultra, the Samsung S22 Ultra rethought the range’s design to draw inspiration from the late Galaxy Note. In fact, here’s the big novelty of this flaship: It has a small slot for the S Pen on the bottom left, which can be clipped open with a simple press. Inevitably, this is felt at the level of scale, the S22 Ultra is a real tank that is very difficult to use with only one hand, but will appeal to lovers of massive smartphones. It is impressive, but still maintains an elegant appearance with this time the photo module is inserted into the hull.
Regarding the OLED panel, it’s hard to make the slightest complaint, the quality is very good. It measures 6.8 inches with a maximum definition of 3080 x 1440 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 10 to 120 Hz in terms of reliability and durability: IP 68 for sealing and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back for solidity.

If we talk about the technical sheet, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is definitely enough to justify its flagship status. Under the hood, there is an Exynos 2100 chip with 8GB of RAM. It therefore easily fulfills all the needs you may have for a mobile phone in 2022, such as enjoying the latest software interface without any slowdowns, both while browsing the Internet, playing videos in high definition, even if some applications are running in the background. However, it is true that the video game section has a little more problems compared to smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
On the other hand, we finally saw a nice increase in fast charging from 25 to 45 W, which lets you go from 0 to 100% in 1 hour. It’s definitely not on the level of Xiaomi or Oppo flagships, but it’s still much more comfortable.
The S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is still a photophone of extreme quality that competitors on the Android side of things will struggle to reach. The 108 megapixel sensor is still just as effective in most situations, the X3 and X10’s optical zoom is very clean and a few software additions (improved night mode, stability, etc.) further reinforce the overall very positive impression. We certainly would have appreciated the bigger gap between this smartphone and the S21 Ultra, but we’re still at the top of the list.
