Here are the best laptops CES 2023 has to offer
If you want a preview of what to expect in the coming year (or years) when it comes to laptop components, design, and features, CES is that crystal ball. From dual-screen devices to 18-inch gaming behemoths, show this year got us excited for what’s to come.
Intel, AMD, and Nvidia made their big mobile chip announcements at CES and this year is no different. Also, while internals are a big novelty, the biggest trend in laptops is display technology – whether it’s the rapidly growing number of OLED laptops with brilliant colors, amazing contrast and high brightness or larger 18-inch gaming laptops or ever-accelerating refresh rates. rates for smoother graphics and videos even on non-gaming laptops. Asus even launched the first laptop with a 3D screen without glasses.
Whether you care deeply about gaming or content creation or just working, CES 2023 has something for everyone.

ProArt Studiobook 16 3D OLED/Vivobook Pro 16X 3D OLED
Most of Asus’ CES laptop announcements feature one key ingredient: an OLED display. This includes the upcoming launch of the world’s first 3D OLED. 3D is generated through layers of lenticular lenses that are bonded to panels – to refract the emitted light to a different eye. This means you get 3D without glasses. It is designed to work with all popular 3D formats, although the experience may vary depending on the content. And yes, it can also be used for games.

Laptop design is basically two things: the keyboard and the screen. Yoga Book 9i leaves the first in favor of the second part of the second. Having two 13-inch OLED screens means you expand the screen area without increasing your mobile footprint. With a collapsible stand, Bluetooth keyboard, active stylus (all included), and smart software, you can use the Yoga Book like a regular 13-inch laptop on your laptop or expand your workspace in an instant. Is this the future of laptops? Maybe not, but it sure is cool.

LG
LG’s Gram laptop line hasn’t changed drastically over the years. The pattern is quite buttoned but very light. For 2023, LG mixes things up and pushes design forward with its Gram Style.
Instead of basic black or gray, LG has given the Style – which will come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes – a multicolored glazed treatment. Also, LG has ditched the traditional trackpad and placed a haptic touchpad in the area below the keyboard. But unlike other haptic touchpads like those on the MacBook, there’s no artificial contour for the touch area, everything is just flat metal. So how do you find it? When you use the touchpad, the left and right borders light up.

While Alienware will also have an impressive 18-inch laptop, the m18, the star of the announcement will be the slim little Alienware x14. The company updated its product ID again, called Legend, flattened the back for more comfortable carrying, as well as giving it an updated nose for easier opening. It has a new leg design for better cooling and greater comfort when used on your lap. The x14 features a larger 16:10 screen, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, a Full HD webcam, and thermal materials on the CPU and GPU for optimized heat dissipation. But overall the display is excellent – right down to the RGB touchpad.

HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebooks
HP’s Chromebook Elite Dragonfly is one of the best Chromebooks released last year, if not the best. One problem: It’s a business model whose prices are so high that even die-hard ChromeOS fans will object. The Chromebook Dragonfly Pro plays in the same premium space as the Elite but is more consumer-focused and, while pricing hasn’t been announced, it should be more affordable. Plus, it has an RGB backlit keyboard, and who doesn’t love that?
