HP 17-cn2002nf Laptop, 17″ Silver Thin and Light Versatile Alder Lake GeForce SSD 1 TB – LaptopSpirit

Our opinion on the HP 17-cn2002nf

Relatively thin and light for a general purpose full-size laptopHP 17-cn2002nf benefits from a 1 TB SSD fast storage that increases its responsiveness and a 17-inch IPS Full HD anti-reflective screen. This ultrabook with an elegant silver design running Windows 11 does well in everyday use and in simple multimedia processing with an Intel Alder Lake-U hybrid Core i7-1255U processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce MX550 graphics card to run games that don’t work. too greedy. When equipped with a USB-C connector, this mobile computer ignores the keyboard backlight system and axes Wi-Fi, which is a shame.

HP 17-cn2002nf against the competition

HP 17-cn2002nf is currently available at French HP and is positioned as the only one in its category to offer such a large storage capacity with such a powerful graphics solution, and this in a chassis so light under Windows 11.

HP 17-cn2002nf chassis, connectors, display

This versatile Ultrabook sports an elegant and discreet look in a thin and light Natural Silver design.

The connectivity is correct, consisting of 1 USB-C, handy HDMI video output to easily connect it to a monitor or TV for example, Bluetooth 5.0 wireless module and Wi-Fi ac to communicate and connect remotely, Ethernet and audio ports or 2 USB 3.0 ( compatible with USB 2.0) guarantees transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when a USB 3.0 peripheral is connected to it.

However, it’s a shame at this price level to note the absence of the newer and more efficient Wi-Fi ax module, as well as backlighting on the keyboard to better distinguish the keys when ambient light is limited.

Thanks to the IPS technology, the screen has significant viewing angles both horizontally and vertically. But it’s a shame not to have to deal with high-end IPS because here the colorimetry is classic. Anti-reflective coating, the screen in any case offers better visibility in bright environments (e.g. outdoors) than glossy panels while being more soothing to the eye over long periods of time.
Of course, the screen is also suitable for viewing High Definition content such as videos due to Full HD definition and 16:9 format.

Performance, autonomy HP 17-cn2002nf

The HP 17-cn2002nf targets those looking for a relatively thin and light full-size laptop for general everyday use.

It benefits from quiet SSD storage while being more energy efficient than hard drives, more shock resistant, and faster.
Plus, the SSD here offers a hefty 1 TB capacity rivaling hard drives in this area, enough to hold lots of files and software.

In concrete terms, SSDs provide significantly better everyday fluidity and responsiveness than simple hard drives. Thanks to SSD, we get much faster start / stop, processing and launching of software, or even faster arrival in online game cards.

It is quite possible to enjoy games that are less greedy for graphics resources thanks to the dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics card installed, and this is in exchange for concessions under 3D resource-consuming titles to get good playability.

In fact, the GeForce MX550 is enabled/disabled automatically and in real time with NVIDIA Optimus technology. However, it prefers as much of the Iris Xe graphics solution as possible integrated into the processor despite the benefit of being a bit more simplistic due to the energy saving that boosts autonomy.
In this case, expect about 7 hours of battery operation under light use in this area.

In fact, the GeForce MX550 was called by Optimus for graphics work which was deemed too heavy for the Iris Xe. Of course with one or the other you can watch photos and videos, but also play simple games, the GeForce MX550 is more powerful in this area than the Iris Xe.

Iris Xe is integrated directly into the processor, a low-power Intel Alder Lake-U Core i7-1255U with 10 hybrid cores here coupled with 16 GB of RAM to provide good general performance capable of satisfying many users.

This core can satisfy those who perform simple multimedia processing using multicore and RAM.
However, for jobs that require more processor and/or graphics resources, it is better to switch to a PC based on a non-low power processor and/or a suitable dedicated graphics card.

Finally, due to its controllable thinness and weight, this versatile Ultrabook with an elegant silver design makes transport a breeze for its 17-inch size, yet not the most naturally portable but convenient format for sedentary use (eg: at home ) .
